November 26, 2023 No Comments

There is something wonderful about Gingerbread Men and Boys during this time of the year given the long loved story about the Gingerbread Cookie that came to life. Today your class can enjoy Gingerbread children, friends, girls, pirates and more through delightful literature.

I like to think this theme is perfect for classrooms trying to avoid a holiday theme yet keep their classroom festive with meaningful activities that can be embedded into the curriculum. These resources are perfect to do just that with reading, writing, word work, math and crafts.

The first resource is Gingerbread Day. This resource is a shortened version or the Gingerbread Themed Resource. The Gingerbread Themed Resource includes suggested literature and activities to accompany the stories.

Take a peek below at all the amazing activities that are included in these wonderful resources.

Activities are included for creating Gingerbread Cookies and Gingerbread Houses. One activity includes having students take a bite of the cookies. What piece did you bite? Head, Foot, Arm, Hand They will then graph that data.

Your class will enjoy making a Gingerbread Character, sending it to a relative or friend somewhere in the United States, having them take a picture of a place they visited with the character and then mail or send the picture back to the child. As the pictures are shared locate the location on the map. and post the picture. Mapping

Your class will enjoy this Reader’s Theater. Activities include creating a new ending and preparing a LOST poster for the Gingerbread Boy.

While celebrating Gingerbread activities in your class you will appreciate this math center with addition ten to twenty for the math center. There are also individual practice/assessment pages.

You will enjoy the Gingerbread Bundle where you will SAVE 20%.

I’m Michele a retired educator who loved every minute of being in the classroom and creating an environment where students loved coming and materials were presented that inspired learning. After retirement 5 years ago I knew I wanted to stay connected to the classroom and education. I began pulling my materials together and creating resources for TpT. I hope you will peek at them!! Together my husband and I have raised three amazing sons who now are busy beginning families of their own. To date I only have one grandson but he is such a joy! My husband, miniature dachshund Rubee, and I love being on the water, boating and walking outside. So if you see sunglasses you know where we are!! Together we spend time at our lake house in Michigan and our winter home in Florida. We are creating so many wonderful memories.
