It is also probably one of the most difficult to achieve.
This resource is designed tho help you maintain control in your classroom using a POSITIVEformat. It is consistent and materials for a full year with suggestions as to how to use it.
It begins with a letter to parents and a description of positive behaviors you are looking for.
Poster … Be Kind Be Safe
Activities to support and recognize in their own life what kindness and safety look like along with people who are kind to them and support them in being safe.
Poster … Cooperate, Responsible, Respectful
Activities to understand behaviors that support each of the important “BIG WORDS” and how they can help support a healthy classroom and learning.
The goal of the resource is to CATCH students demonstrating positive behaviors.
There are several assorted notes to send home sharing with parents what you observed their child doing that supported you classroom environment. Each note has behaviors for you to check so you do not have to write it all out unless you want to write a note on the back.
Example:

__ You were taking turns.
__ You were doing your part.
__ You let everyone join in..
__ You encouraged someone.
I had a great day!!
__ I listened carefully.
__ I followed directions.
__ I worked quietly.
__ I did my best work.
__ I was kind and helpful.
__ I cooperated with my peers.
Next there are suggestions for your class earning a special day for positive behavior.
Suggestions are: popcorn day, donut day, bubble day, hot chocolate day, pirate day, camp day, pajama day, and days of their choice with an apple, leaf, turkey, snowman, sunshine and more.
Each theme has a class poster to laminate, stickers to put on the poster at the end of each day and positive behavior notes to send home with students.
