Let’s Grow Our Knowledge of Plants

March 29, 2026 No Comments

There’s something magical about teaching plants in the primary classroom. From tiny seeds to blooming flowers, students are naturally curious about how things grow and change. Spring is the perfect time to dig into this topic, as the world around us begins to come alive with color and new life.

In our classroom, learning about plants goes far beyond just reading about them. We explore the parts of a plant, discover what plants need to survive, and follow the life cycle step by step. By combining informational text, hands-on activities, and interactive technology, students are able to see, touch, and truly understand how plants grow.

In this post, I’m excited to share engaging ideas and resources—including interactive Google Slides and meaningful classroom activities—that will help your students “grow” their knowledge of plants in a fun and memorable way. 🌱

I’m Michele a retired educator who loved every minute of being in the classroom and creating an environment where students loved coming and materials were presented that inspired learning. After retirement 5 years ago I knew I wanted to stay connected to the classroom and education. I began pulling my materials together and creating resources for TpT. I hope you will peek at them!! Together my husband and I have raised three amazing sons who now are busy beginning families of their own. To date I only have one grandson but he is such a joy! My husband, miniature dachshund Rubee, and I love being on the water, boating and walking outside. So if you see sunglasses you know where we are!! Together we spend time at our lake house in Michigan and our winter home in Florida. We are creating so many wonderful memories.
