Let’s get ready for Back to School!
In my classroom a familiar question is:
Have you helped someone today?
Helping others makes us feel good about ourselves.
Helping others makes us feel a part of a group.
It has been proven that helping others is even contagious.
When we are helpful, we are kind and we build a classroom community where students feel safe and an environment where they can learn while cooperating and supporting others.
This resource has posters for encouraging helping others.
Coupons that say “I caught you helping others.”
Suggestions for helping others.
Enjoy!

Using the pretest you will improve your students spelling score.
Students will correct the words they misspelled and then it will go home to parents as a reminder of what needs to be practiced and a reminder that the final assessment is coming up.
The tests and pretests come with templates for 6, 8 and 10 words along with dictation.
There are plain lines and writing lines to choose from.
A tour of the school is always on the top of the “first day activities” so you will enjoy this creative “scavenger hunt” to tour the school after reading Froggy Goes to School by Jonathan London.
This activity is sure to be enjoyable while creatively showing your class around school and the room. It can end in a little “treat” from Froggy.
So much fun.
In my experience, students with a strong base of sight words are strong readers.
The same is true in mathematics. Those with a strong knowledge of facts are strong mathematicians.
These resources are perfect for developing fluency!
Games motivate, support learning and review, all the teacher to differentiate and develop language concepts. This resource Includes three math games for addition practice.
Encourage students to be kind and helpful.
Share ideas with them on things they might do that promote these amazing qualities.
