I feel Fact Fluency in math is similar to Sight Words in reading. These basic strategies can be very helpful in teaching students fact fluency to 20. The strategies are: Doubles, Doubles + 1, Doubles + 2, 10 + number and 9 + number. By learning these strategies students begin to use mental math instead of depending on the number line or grid (and maybe even fingers).
The resource includes: Color and BW number lines to 20 for students needing support. Center matching activity (fact to sum in jar using one of the above strategies).
