I love the opportunities the story provides for text to self and text to world. This is ideal for Guided Reading and includes vocabulary, word work, paragraph organizers, writing, comprehension. It is perfect for introducing all the special events your class will celebrate throughout the year. It also contains activities for discovering facts about YOU the teacher. What do the students know, what do they wonder, what can you share? I suggest using this during the first week back to school.
