The resource includes an adorable page topper for student writing. Students can decide on the facial expression they wish. Activities all relate to the story and include story elements, sequencing, writing and critical thinking. Students are given opportunities to connect the story to themselves as well.
Have students complete this in small groups.
I never get tired of reading this story to my class at the beginning of the year. It is a nice “ice breaker” to let them know that even teachers get a “little” nervous. I also like this story because it leads into talking about emotions. Some students seem leery to say they are nervous or scared but simple things in our life can cause these emotions and that is nothing to be ashamed of!!
If you take a mouse to school, he’ll ask you for your lunch box. When you give him your lunch box, he’ll want a sandwich to go in it.
What a fun day mouse has at school and what fun your class will have using their imagination and creativity to write, read and work with words related to this delightful stories!!Find Resource here.
