This game will get your class up and MOVING while reading, responding and developing an understanding of fact and opinion. It can be used as an assessment or as a review of things you’ve learned over the unit. The students can work as partners or as individuals. I like to use partners and pair a reader with a non reader so they will both meet with success. Encourage students to talk quietly while discussing the answer so that others will not “steal:’ their answer. At the end everyone returns to their seat and we go over the answers while students self check. **Note: remember not all students will begin on #1 You will have a student or a pair of students at each number. Rotations (SCOOT) will end when the students have rotated through all the numbers. If I start at 10 I move to 11, 12 and so on.
