St. Patrick’s Day is with us, the day when all that’s seen, to right and left and everywhere is GREEN, GREEN, GREEN! St. Patrick’s Day is the perfect opportunity to teach cross curricular. Students can read informational text about how the tradition began. They can learn about Ireland and discover its location on the globe. It is also a great opportunity to have a little fun with the magical leprechaun. Students can build vocabulary and write about this interesting day.

Always SAVE 20% by purchasing a bundle.

This unit is filled with vocabulary, word work using the vocabulary, informational text for reading and gathering facts, a reader’s theater on catching the leprechaun, writing activities, and 5 literature suggestions with comprehension activities to follow perfect for guided reading. It also includes one of my favorite crafts ever. Check out the adorable leprechaun!!

And oh what fun this is. it contain wonderful behavior management activities with I caught you! Instead of a mischievous leprechaun visiting your classroom enjoy one that visits and catches individuals and the class cooperating, doing their best, helping others and following directions. There are also delightful suggestions and activities for designing traps to catch the leprechaun. Finally the resource ends with a “Lucky Charms” sort, data collection and recording data. Terrific for math.

You will definitely want to pick up this FREEBIE! That’s What Leprechauns Do by Eve Bunting. It is the ideal book companion for St. Patrick’s Day.

Enjoy this special time of year!! Michele

I’m Michele a retired educator who loved every minute of being in the classroom and creating an environment where students loved coming and materials were presented that inspired learning. After retirement 5 years ago I knew I wanted to stay connected to the classroom and education. I began pulling my materials together and creating resources for TpT. I hope you will peek at them!! Together my husband and I have raised three amazing sons who now are busy beginning families of their own. To date I only have one grandson but he is such a joy! My husband, miniature dachshund Rubee, and I love being on the water, boating and walking outside. So if you see sunglasses you know where we are!! Together we spend time at our lake house in Michigan and our winter home in Florida. We are creating so many wonderful memories.
