The Ultimate K–2 Teacher Survival Bundle: Everything You Need for a Successful School Year

June 15, 2026 No Comments

As elementary teachers, we wear many hats every day. We assess student learning, communicate with families, prepare for conferences, monitor progress, organize data, and somehow still find time to teach engaging lessons.

After spending nearly four decades in elementary education, I know firsthand how overwhelming these responsibilities can become. That’s why I created The Ultimate K–2 Teacher Survival Bundle—a collection of resources designed to help teachers stay organized, save time, and focus on what matters most: helping students grow.

Let’s take a closer look at what’s included.

Teacher Assessment Survival Kit

Assessment is one of the most important—and time-consuming—parts of teaching. The Teacher Assessment Survival Kit provides ready-to-use tools that help teachers monitor student growth throughout the school year.

This resource includes:

  • Addition and subtraction fact assessments
  • Reading assessment tools
  • Writing rubrics and checklists
  • Monthly skill checklists
  • Goal-setting forms
  • Data collection sheets
  • Progress monitoring tools

Whether you’re preparing report cards, documenting interventions, or planning instruction, these forms help keep student data organized and accessible. Specific grade level specific assessments. Ideal for students below or above grade level.

Specific month to month skills identified for that time of the year.

Watch Me Grow Student Portfolio

One of my favorite ways to document student growth is through portfolios. The Watch Me Grow Portfolio allows students, parents, and teachers to see progress over an entire school year.

Students complete monthly activities that showcase growth in:

  • Writing
  • Reading
  • Math
  • Sight word recognition
  • Handwriting
  • Self-reflection

By the end of the year, families have a treasured keepsake that captures their child’s academic journey while teachers have authentic evidence of student growth.

Create a wonderful year at a glance notebook for students and parents.

Home-School Communication Forms

Strong partnerships between home and school are essential to student success.

This resource provides editable communication forms that make it easy to keep families informed and involved.

Included are:

  • Parent communication notes
  • Positive behavior notes
  • Absence forms
  • Missing work notices
  • Behavior reports
  • Parent contact logs
  • Student snapshots

These forms help create consistent communication while saving valuable teacher time.

Parent-Teacher Conference Toolkit

Parent-teacher conferences can be stressful when you’re scrambling to gather information and organize student data.

The Parent-Teacher Conference Toolkit provides everything needed to conduct organized, productive conferences.

You’ll find:

  • Conference scheduling forms
  • Parent reminders
  • Student reflection pages
  • Goal-setting forms
  • Reading, writing, and math documentation
  • Conference note templates
  • Follow-up communication forms

These tools help teachers clearly communicate student strengths, growth areas, and next steps while building positive relationships with families.

Editable Calendars and Newsletters

Families appreciate knowing what’s happening in the classroom, but creating newsletters and calendars from scratch each month takes time.

These editable templates make communication simple and professional.

Use them to share:

  • Upcoming events
  • Homework reminders
  • Classroom news
  • Curriculum updates
  • School announcements
  • Important dates
  • Volunteer opportunities

Simply type, customize, print, or send digitally.

I’m Michele a retired educator who loved every minute of being in the classroom and creating an environment where students loved coming and materials were presented that inspired learning. After retirement 5 years ago I knew I wanted to stay connected to the classroom and education. I began pulling my materials together and creating resources for TpT. I hope you will peek at them!! Together my husband and I have raised three amazing sons who now are busy beginning families of their own. To date I only have one grandson but he is such a joy! My husband, miniature dachshund Rubee, and I love being on the water, boating and walking outside. So if you see sunglasses you know where we are!! Together we spend time at our lake house in Michigan and our winter home in Florida. We are creating so many wonderful memories.
