Math and Literacy Games and Activities

This is one of my favorite resources for the end of August first of September because it is filled with math and literacy activities and games ideal for the Back to School Theme. The topics include Back to School, My Backpack, School Supplies and Friends. Each topic includes reading, word work, writing and math with differentiated levels. The games and activities are ideal for centers, small groups and even whole class review and practice.

I love the guided reading mini books. Students can highlight key vocabulary words and then read with a partner, teacher, parent volunteer or themselves. They can color the pictures or draw. The word work includes skills such as ABC Order, word searches, syllables, parts of speech and a favorite of everyone…Let’s Make Words. They are paired with 24 colorful vocabulary cards for posting or laminating and using for ABC Order or syllables or sorting. This resource also includes writing activities for you with themes of school supplies, friends and my backpack. Each theme includes a graphic organizer for gather ideas, a pre write for creating your paragraph and then 4 different levels final write pages with a cover for creating a class book so students can read each others writing pieces. Math is filled with games for partners or small groups. Each game includes a response sheet for accountability. What fun to play at school and then take home to play with family. Wonderful practice.

These interactive google slides are ideal for the computer center, computer lab or individual student computers at home or school. They include the skills of click and drag and basic typing. Each slide accompanies the skills presented in the paper pencil resource. They are a terrific team!

I’m Michele a retired educator who loved every minute of being in the classroom and creating an environment where students loved coming and materials were presented that inspired learning. After retirement 5 years ago I knew I wanted to stay connected to the classroom and education. I began pulling my materials together and creating resources for TpT. I hope you will peek at them!! Together my husband and I have raised three amazing sons who now are busy beginning families of their own. To date I only have one grandson but he is such a joy! My husband, miniature dachshund Rubee, and I love being on the water, boating and walking outside. So if you see sunglasses you know where we are!! Together we spend time at our lake house in Michigan and our winter home in Florida. We are creating so many wonderful memories.
