Trying to find appropriate literature for the primary child to share about Tall Tale Characters can be a real challenge. So NO EXAGGERATION that is why this resource was created. Each character has a mini booklet filled with easy to read text for the student. You can read the mini books as a whole group, small groups or with partners. Because each child has their own book key events can be highlighted as well as difficult vocabulary. The crafts for each character are adorable and perfect for posting in your classroom. Each character also has colorful key vocabulary for posting. These vocabulary cards work well on your word wall, in the writing center or by you collection of Tall Tales. Each character also has graphic organizers for helping students create their writing, a class cover so everyone can read what the students wrote and a selection of final write pages. Take a peek above at all of the amazing activities to support your tall tale unit. Reading, writing and word work with one math activity for each character. Also I wanted to add a little extra so I created a section in this packet on writing student created tall tales. The students will love writing their own tales with all the helpful activities included.

If you want to see how well the character activities work pick up this FREE Annie Oakley packet.

I LOVE these. What fun your class will have writing about these tall tale characters. The crafts are amazing and the character chat really helps your students pull out key details about the character.

I’m Michele a retired educator who loved every minute of being in the classroom and creating an environment where students loved coming and materials were presented that inspired learning. After retirement 5 years ago I knew I wanted to stay connected to the classroom and education. I began pulling my materials together and creating resources for TpT. I hope you will peek at them!! Together my husband and I have raised three amazing sons who now are busy beginning families of their own. To date I only have one grandson but he is such a joy! My husband, miniature dachshund Rubee, and I love being on the water, boating and walking outside. So if you see sunglasses you know where we are!! Together we spend time at our lake house in Michigan and our winter home in Florida. We are creating so many wonderful memories.
