With a little practice you will enable your class to control their voices to meet the activity they are involved in. This resource has so many tools to create a system where students can see what voice level should be used. It also allows you the teacher to point or post with visual clues vs. verbal.
The first step is to inform students of what the voices are and allow them to practice. There is an activity for doing that and cards to post and show to give examples of when the voice level should be used.
A prefect story is DECIBELLA to share before introducing the different levels.
At the beginning you may need to spend more time explaining and demonstrating but as students become familiar all that will be needed is the buttons. By using the buttons you can have them posted in different areas of the room. Ex. In your small group they may be using voice level number 2 Buddy Talk. In the centers you may use voice level number 0 or 1.
There is a small poster as well as larger signs. There is also a note to parents and samples them to practice with their child at home.
