Another favorite for the young child. Ideal for introducing color words. There are so many wonderful activities to extend the enjoyment of this delightful story.

Vocabulary cards with the book characters on them. There is a simple ABC order activity and then a number of match activities for animals and colors. I also love the mini readers that can be used as a Reader’s Theater. There are headband patterns to make to use as name plates for the characters. The colored animals can also be placed on sticks for retells in a center.
The fun continues with two games for collecting data. These can be played individual or with a partner. There is sequencing and then a writing activity. You can choose from a class book or a writing with bear topper. Encourage students to be creative and choose animals other than those in the story.
